Sacha Schoenfeld
Sacha qualified as a solicitor in the UK in 1993, and since that time has worked almost exclusively in the fields of employment and corporate immigration.

From 1994 to 1997 and from 1997 to 2001 she worked as an Associate at a prominent firm of immigration lawyers in the West End of London, Magrath & Co, where she dealt with a wide variety of applications for both corporations and individuals, covering every aspect of immigration law, policy and procedure.

From 1997 to1999 she worked for the City firm Taylor Joynson Garrett in their Bucharest office, advising foreign investors in Romania on immigration and employment law, as well as on their commercial activities in that country and throughout Europe.

Since forming Baxter McKay Schoenfeld LLP in October 2004, her practice has focussed on employment as well as immigration work, and she now acts for a wide range of both employers and employees in this rapidly evolving area.

She has a degree in Modern Languages from the University of Durham, and a Masters in International Relations and Russian Politics from the University of London. She also speaks a number of languages, including French, Romanian and Russian; and in the course of her career has travelled widely throughout Eastern and Western Europe, Asia and the US.

Gill Baxter
After a commercial and media related background working in the music and television industry, Gill was headhunted by a specialist media practice where she headed and developed the music and film department for several years.

In June 2002 Gill set up Baxter McKay LLP, which focussed mainly on music, film and television as well as company and commercial work. Since forming Baxter McKay Schoenfeld LLP with Sacha Schoenfeld in October 2004, Gill’s practice extended to include company law, commercial litigation, insolvency and employment.

As well as her work within the practice, Gill continues to lecture on all aspects of the media industry, and was most recently an invited panel member discussing the Chancellor’s new tax break proposals at BAFTA. She is a member of the International Association of Entertainment Lawyers, and the Music Managers Forum, as well as a voting member of BAFTA. She is the author of two books – “Film Industry Contracts” and “Music Copyright in Film and TV”, published in June 2005 by Medialex Publishing.

Gill regularly attends the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva as legal advisor to an NGO latterly in respect of the proposed Broadcasting Treaty. Gill often travels abroad on behalf of clients, particularly the US, Monaco and Europe and has negotiated deals in Australia, Japan and Canada.
